ELEMENTARY-LEVEL SECTION

 

Function: PK-5 teachers and teacher leaders in the Elementary Section will get together to discuss grade-level successes, meet virtually across the state, and address concerns for their grade band. Among many opportunities throughout the year, this section can address early literacy needs across the state in both ELAR and SLAR.

MIDDLE-LEVEL SECTION

 

Function: Grades 6-8 teachers and teacher leaders in the Middle School Section will get together to discuss grade-level successes, meet virtually across the state, and address concerns for their grade band. Among many opportunities throughout the year, this section can help devise a profile for more diverse reading opportunities across Texas.

HIGH SCHOOL-LEVEL SECTION

 

Function: Grades 9-12 teachers and teacher leaders in the High School Section will get together to discuss grade-level successes, meet virtually across the state, and address concerns for their grade band. Among many opportunities throughout the year, this section addresses ways to celebrate diversity in your classroom, how to promote equity in school, and both college and career successes for students with varying needs as they exit high school.

TEACHER DEVELOPMENT SECTION


Function: Coordinators, college professors, directors, instructional officers, instructional coaches, specialists, and anyone who supports teacher education PK-16 can find a home in the Teacher Development Section of TCTELA. Among many opportunities throughout the year, this section can discuss varying support and structures for both teacher development and teacher education.

PRE-SERVICE TEACHER COMMITTEE


Function: Nurturing pre-service English teachers by offering quality professional development experiences and opportunities to build relationships with veteran teachers across the state is the role of the ad hoc pre-service teacher section. The section offers a pre-service teacher conference grant. Apply Today!
